The best way to handle no-shows

I recently dealt with a situation where a guest didn’t show up for their reservation, and I wanted to share how we handled it. We reached out to them the next day to see if everything was okay, and it turned out they had a family emergency. This built some goodwill, and they appreciated our follow-up. Have others had success with similar approaches?

That’s a great way to handle it! I always follow up via email too, just to have a record. Has anyone tried sending a quick text instead?

Following up with guests is crucial, especially after a no-show. I’ve found that a personal touch, like a phone call, can make a difference in building that goodwill. Has anyone considered asking if they’d prefer a text or call next time?

I’ve noticed that sending a quick text can speed up the follow-up process and feel less formal. It’s also more convenient for guests. @arthur.jones87, have you had good responses with texts compared to emails?
