The day we mistook the guest for a statue

I’ll never forget the time I was at the front desk, utterly convinced we had a new art installation — a very still guest just sitting there. After a good few minutes of contemplating the ‘art’, I walked over, only to find out he was just napping! It’s moments like these that remind us how important first impressions are, but they sure do add some humor to an otherwise routine day.

But , I’ve had my share of those moments too! Just last week, I saw a dude at the lounge who looked so still I thought he was judging our decor choices. Turns out, he was just really into his podcast.

That’s hilarious! I’ve had a guest in the lobby who looked so zoned out, I considered giving them a brochure. It’s funny how we can get so caught up in the moment that we forget people need a little rest too.

You’re not alone! I once nearly offered a drink to a guy in the lobby who was so still I thought he was the newest addition to our decor… , and just last week, I mistakenly called someone on the phone to check if they were okay — turns out they were just really focused on their book.
